The Investment to Transform the Hotel’s Rooms, Suites, Lobby and Common Areas Coincides with the Grand Opening of ISLAND Waterpark this Summer
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (January 24, 2023)– Bart Blatstein, the owner of Showboat Resort, is excited to announce that the final phase of remodelingthe iconic hotel’s 800 rooms, suites, lobby and other common areas is underway. The $50 million dollar renovation project will be completed just in time for the grand opening of the $100 million dollar ISLAND Waterpark, an indoor waterpark opening this summer that is currently under construction next to the Showboat.
“The Showboat is the only true family-friendly, year-round resort in Atlantic City and these major investments demonstrate our ongoing commitment to elevate guests’ experiences,” said Bart Blatstein, CEO of Tower Investments Inc. and Showboat owner. “The room and other property enhancements will ensure the stay experience aligns with our extraordinary entertainment offerings that we have developed in recent years.”
The CEO of Philadelphia-based Tower Investments Inc. breathed new life into the Showboat Hotel in July 2016, when he bought the shuttered property and started reopening and re-imagining the former casino in phases. Truly committed to the redevelopment and rebirth of Atlantic City, Blatstein is thrilled for this next phase of renovations.
Blatstein launched New Jersey’s largest arcade, which includes multiple entertainment concepts under one roof, in 2021. Branded asLucky Snake at Showboat, it includes a massive arcade, sports bar, indoor venues for live entertainment and improved convention and meeting spaces. An indoor go-kart race track was added last summer.
The latest phase of renovations will encompass a full overhaul of the Showboat’s room inventory. The upgrades will include modern coastal themed furnishings designed to emulate the beachfront location. All rooms will offer state-of-the-art key lock technology enabled by guests’ personal phones. The new designs for the lobby and other common areas will be themed around Atlantic City’s greatest asset – The Beach.
These property enhancements demonstrate Tower’s commitment to the Atlantic City market and add to the entertainment offerings made since Blatstein’s purchase. The Showboat is the largest non-casino hotel in New Jersey.
“Open now for our seventh summer, we know how much our guests enjoy staying with us at Showboat and look forward to elevating that experience even more with these renovations,” said Blatstein.“At Tower, we’ve always believed in Atlantic City and can’t wait to open our waterpark!New offerings like the Lucky Snake and the incredible events we offer will just keep making this celebrated city even better and more attractive to guests.”
