Along with Cincy, Rutgers, WVU, DePaul, Seton Hall, and USF. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college..._brief.php Lets all make fun of USM, Memphis, UCF and UTEP!! They are all Tier 4. lmfao

TC91, just to let you know, Gainsville is only 2 hrs away from Orlando and UF (and FSU) dominates the news. In Orlando Sentinel, UCF mostly gets mentions towards the back....around the 6th or 7th page w/ the rest of CUSA. I live in Orlando so I know how much coverage is given to UCF. Most Sports stores, Sport Clips, restuarants, etc usually have UF, FSU and UM. If UCF has a long long way for that "control" of Orlando.

I am sure if UCF somehow beat one of the big 3, they will get a lot of attention. I am sure their new stadium will make some noise. If USF somehow beat Auburn this coming season, that would be real good for the BE and USF.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. If the BE values Florida and Metro areas, UCF. Even though they get no support considering the size of the market they are in. Memphis. Great basketball. Mediocre football. Memphis is a city that is getting smaller!! ECU. Good fan support. #105 out of 210 in market size. There is no changing that. If/when you expand. What do you want. Support....market......100% support in a small market......5% support in a large......1 good sport......20 OK sports. Given the situation in the Big East and the basketball power, you need football. Football is King. Always will be.

MadEagle All American Posts: 3,487 | Post: #30 lol Southern Miss would be a better add on than UMass, Yeah UMass makes more sence, But why wait years for there D1-AA football program to become competive in a BCS conference when you can add a football program that has 13 consective winning seasons and been to bowl games 8 of the last 9 seasons. And who's got a Basketball program on the rise not to mention a really good Baseball program. Why not go outta of the way to add a good team. I mean Marqutte is pretty far out west. So why not ?

USF in tampa has the same problem both of us are afterthoughts.. and if u leave Tampa and Orlando we dont even rate that high.

Im sure a tiger fan can pull up the scientific poll the commercial appeal did as to who the city supported the most. the u of m at least double the support of every other team...ut, ole miss, arky, etc. i personally dont know if the big east splits in the future and it doesnt keep me up at night worrying. if they do, i would imagine support and name recognition would be high on the list, and i would imagine memphis and ecu would be top on that list, assuming maryland, ND, penn st, etc are not available.

panite Heisman Posts: 6,216 | Post: #38 With the Max Sports Blog and the ECU posters posting their independent FB blog on this board, it looks like the Trained Goose may be trying to pull off another coup to save the BB schools and the BE as is plus one. ECU doesnt have a BE team on their schedule from 2010. Maybe they don't need one since Trained Goose may have brokered a back room deal with the BB schools and the FB schools to handle the FB scheduling issue. A deal like this will help to keep the conference together until the current TV deals are done and give the conference more time to evaluate the future sports landscape until 2012/13. The A-10 may have an opening for the rest of ECU's sports if the rumors become true that St. Louis is leaving for a conference closer to home. I really think that this is the direction that the Goose will try to go in first and that ECU will be the school added if UCF and Memphis refuse the FB only invite as the their first step into the BE.
